Audiobook Review:Augmented, book two in Building a Hero series, was a great addition to the series and picks up where book one leaves off. While I enjoyed this story, and will definitely listen to the next book, I felt the story lacked compared to book one. Book two ends on a cliffhanger with a few unanswered questions so book three will certainly have a lot to wrap up.
Action/Suspense: There's a good mix of action, suspense, and drama but more on the mild to medium side.
Characters: Great character development! This story is told from multiple POV's, and really develops each of the characters. While it appears West and Cornelia relationship may be on the rocks, we learn more about Dalton and the female who wants to study his condition. By far Jessica, Cornelia's younger sister, is best character and my favorite! I love her positive outlook, and all the crazy things she says.
Romance/Sex: The romance is fairly mild; however, there is an in-depth scene.
Narration: Mason Lloyd does an awesome job narrating this story. Each character has their own voice and is consistent between the first two books. I love how he projects the different emotions throughout the story. Great job!
Credit/Sale/Review Copy: Whispersync deal! I love a great sale, and honestly I could not use a credit for such a short story.
Looking forward to book three!

I knew Peter was trying to get Cord? Or is he planning to take West down? Will Dalton get back with Sterling and realize he really love her? Will they find out what Ltd. Sterling has planned for project Cerberus? Will West make things right with Jess and Cord? Gotta go read the fastest installments.
In this second Building a Hero book, Dalton is in trouble and can't follow up with Cordelia about the bite, West continues to miscommunicate with Cordelia about his feelings and her role in his life. She has singlehandedly kept his business going but let's stupid misunderstanding block their interactions. I guess I'll have to wait for the 3rd in the series!
This is great series and Tasha does a great job weaving the story, giving you little clues along the way. Highly recommend this series.
I must admit I didn't enjoy the way it ended. I must admit, enjoyed both book and audible when at work. (⌒ω⌒) This is the continuation of Reconstructed, and I must admit, I am glad to read the book series in order. Augmented gives an insight to Dalton's past, the change he has gone through. My heart bled for Cordelia and West. Looking forward to how the story unfolds o(≧▽≦)o
The second book is even better than the first! Not labeled as a cliff hanger....butttttt.....when you leave your reader grasping ...cold coffee?...hmmm how long was I reading?...and pushing buttons to order like a menopausal book sucking retired rock star...oh wait I am one...lol...that my dear Ms. B is a danged cliff hanger. But I don't hate those like novellas so I will allow you to remain one of my favorites. I recommend this series!
I have both the book and audio and really enjoyed them both. Book two in the trilogy is just as exciting as book one had been. Daulton, best friend, and his go-to-man had decided it was time to go-to-somewhere else at the end of book one. West had a terrible accident, however, been put back together with his science and was recouping and learning to use his new body parts at Cord's place. His relationship with Jess is something he never thought, she's a good kid and he wants to replace her legs with the new technology. He's hesitating and not telling anyone why.
Dalton get a surprise when he starts packing to leave--and wakes up in another scientific facility--why?
The questions of who-what-and-why Dalton is who he is and his changes begin to get more clear, yet there are still questions. Jess and West have a hidden partnership you will enjoy. The story unfolds, yet even brings more questions, danger, and feelings. Cord and West start to show their attraction, however, secrets make it more difficult. Will they finally give in?
This is a pager turner with the mystery getting more complex. Ms. Black creates characters you love/hate and sometimes both. While Daulton finds someone from his past, can she be trusted? Is their relationship just a way to manipulate him? I'm going right on to book three, the final and must have all of the answers.
This is a recommend from me to any romance, PRN, and mystery fan. Enjoy--I didI have both the book and audio and really enjoyed them both.
This is book 2 of a 3 book series. The book does include an action packed complete story which I loved. But I recommend you read book 1 to get complete enjoyment. And to get full resolution of ongoing issues book 3 is a must. Trust me, book 1 was fabulous so you will love it. Book 1 was more about West. I want to clarify that I do not consider this book a serial with a huge cliffhanger. I personally dislike serials. It is more like real life where we all have ongoing dramas, only the dramas in this book are on steroids. This book, Augmented, we find out more about Dalton, why he is different and more about his background. Dalton is not the main hero in this series (that would be West) but he is a fascinating character. And to be honest, I like Dalton better than West. West seems to be going through an emotional growth period in this book after his near fatal accident inthe last book. I think book 3 may give us more about what drives West's personality. West is an uber rich hot billionaire. And there is a lot going on in his and business and personal life. Nefarious characters abound in this book! I just love it because we have a rich plot. I kind of wish it was not just a 3 book series because I really love these characters, including Cordelia and her little sister and geeky scientist Mallory. And what is up with those investors! This book cannot be the last we hear about them. I want more! Write faster please.
